Heidelberg at Arrowhead's MA in Counseling program is designed to meet most of the academic requirements for students seeking licensure as a Professional Counselor (PC), Professional Clinical Counselor (PCC), or a Professional School Counselor (PSC) in the State of Ohio. (Some additional coursework on the main Heidelberg College campus in Tiffin may be required.)
The program is dedicated to educating, motivating and encouraging students to enter the counseling field in areas that maximize their unique abilities and interests. Two program concentrations are available: School Counseling and
Community Counseling.
The Community Counseling program meets the academic and field experience requirements for licensure as a Professional Counselor (PC) or Professional Clinical Counselor (PCC) in the State of Ohio. To qualify to take the state counseling licensure examination, students must complete 60 hours of coursework, including 20 clinical, and take at least one course in each of the 5 specific clinical areas. Specifics on how to satisfy requirements for the Professional Counselor Licensure Examination (PCLE) are available through the Graduate Studies in Counseling Program.
